Col Rajeev Bharwan (MUMMA SIR)
The Genesis of "Soldier Unplugged" & "The Monk Fraternity"
Soldier Unplugged started as a dream,
One day after having stepped into the civil street post my soldiering days, I saw the turmoil, discontentment and disillusionment in the youth around me and decided to “GIVE BACK”. The giving back can never be calibrated – you can`t say I will do only this much – as they say, the drop becomes a drip, the drip becomes a stream, a stream becomes a river and the river becomes a deluge. All you need is the will to do it – hence I become “SOLDIER UNPLUGGED”.
We started with a small idea and today we stand 10000 strong and counting ……with people inspired, helped, guided and motivated to serve the country & society.
From training only one student for an SSB to running our 20th Batch, from sharing “hand written notes” and “friendly advise” to a complete “Learning Management System (LMS)” using latest tech & AI we have evolved into ‘SOLDIER UNPLUGGED‘ as it stands today.
We don`t limit ourselves when it comes to giving back and sharing – be it knowledge, our time, resources and most importantly “LOVE“.
We now also share our love and care through out the country under our NOT FOR PROFIT flagship “MONK ON WHEELS“
The Man behind the MISSION
&
How he became MUMMA SIR
Col Rajeev Bharwan
An accomplished, seasoned and professional Soldier in the old mould, Colonel Rajeev served across the country and abroad (UN) in intense Conflict zones and commanded an elite Specialised Airborne Unit. He was called the “JOSH MACHINE” in the Academy and in his Paltan. Any challenge / toughest task/Sticky Situation – he was the GO to MAN. After an illustrious & satisfying inning, he decided to devote himself to the service of the nation outside the confines of the Army so that he could reach a wider audience and touch more lives, give hope and bring about CHANGE.
Story of how he became MUMMA Sir
During his early days of guiding people, he met a very young boy who had accompanied his mother. After a few hours of interaction, he playfully asked him what was his name ? and then asked him did he know who he (Col Rajeev) was ? so the child who had recently started going to school and had just become acquainted with the concept of Sir & Ma’am immediately quipped you are MUMMA SIR ….. actually meaning that you are my Mumma’s Sir (Teacher) ……………………………And the name has stuck since. It symbolizes far more than just the version of a small child but the view point of so many who find their answers in what Col Rajeev teaches and professes, for them he is a patient listener, loving guide and a strict disciplinarian ….all rolled into one …………………….. their MUMMA SIR.
His work speaks for him with thousands of lives positively impacted, he works tirelessly every day……….
